Making the Business Case for 1-on-1 Coaching
For more companies to increase access to coaching for their managers, there needs to be a clear business case for doing so. CoffeeChat aims to play a role in measuring the impact of 1-on-1 coaching in emerging markets to make its increased use a much easier decision. We have always collected feedback from individual participants on how they have found each session but would like to now begin formally measuring our impact in order to more confidently articulate the transformation that coaches on the CoffeeChat platform facilitate with their clients.
To further this effort, CoffeeChat recently served as the subject of a case study in a Monitoring & Evaluation Case Challenge facilitated by the IDEX Accelerator. Two teams of fellows participating in the IDEX Accelerator Global Fellows Program from across several countries spent time developing logic frameworks for the impact that coaching via CoffeeChat’s platform could have on individual clients. From their findings, CoffeeChat has developed its first iteration of our impact model, which will guide an initial round of user surveys we will use with companies we are serving.
Have any ideas, research, or comments on measuring the impact of coaching, particularly in emerging markets? Please do share with us!
Kudos to Our Business Coaches!
During the past several months, 12 business coaches from the CoffeeChat network worked with 40 early-stage entrepreneurs in Kenya through virtual 1:1 coaching sessions to support them along their start-up journey. The coaching program was in partnership with The Kijiji as part of Whitebox Entrepreneurs, an initiative spearheaded by the UK-Kenya Tech Hub and the Kenyan Ministry of ICT.
From reading through the participant reviews, the coaches did not disappoint:
