Insights from Our Manager Support Survey
CoffeeChat recently conducted a survey aimed at better understanding how companies operating in Africa approach digital professional development services to maintain the wellbeing and performance of their managers. 25 companies collectively home to over 1,200 managers with an operational footprint across 12 African markets shared their responses.
Respondents were asked how they would rank their biggest and most important needs for professional development support to drive success at their organization over the next several years. The above graphic highlights:
Most HR and senior leaders believe that prioritizing the professional development of their middle managers is critical to driving success at their organization.
While smaller companies focus more on their Senior Managers and Directors, a majority of larger companies with greater than 10 managers ranked their Junior Managers as their 1st priority.
The survey was inspired by our ongoing participation in the Future of Work Africa 2021 Accelerator program run by Village Capital with support from the International Finance Corporation. We will be sharing additional findings in future weeks.
