Coach Sazi is a newly-joined coach in the CoffeeChat community who has held senior management roles for the past 10 years and is also a Chartered Accountant. Last year, he completed his Master of Philosophy at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. His dissertation focused on "the perception that black African executives have of coaching as a tool to empower them towards business and career success." His qualitative research through interviews with black executives in Johannesburg and Cape Town revealed that while most executives understand and can articulate the theoretical benefits of coaching, they don't prioritize proactively seeking it out unless they have first positively experienced professional coaching themselves.

We’ve recently re-designed our CoffeeChat website where we make the case why “Everyone Needs a Coach”:

In any given week, you face a number of complex personal and professional challenges. Our pool of coaches spans a wide range of markets and areas of expertise so that you can speak 1-on-1 with the right person who will understand your context.

We’ve written out our own descriptions of the main categories of coaching available through CoffeeChat, which include Executive Coaching, Career Coaching, Life & Wellness Coaching, Product & Tech Coaching, Business & Start-Up Coaching, and Sales & Marketing Coaching.

This Wednesday, Coach Arnold will host another session, this time focusing on virtual job interviews. While many have adjusted to virtual work over the past year, some may be preparing for job interviews in this format for the first time. Arnold shares:

Globally, COVID-19 has seen much of the workforce move from physical, face-to-face interaction to the virtual, online world. As a result, recruiters and employers are requiring candidates to get organized and prepared, ensuring they are set up with the right technology, connections and etiquette to be able to conduct a job interview virtually. It’s incredibly valuable to be familiar with the tools and tricks of the most popular video interview platforms: Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Microsoft Teams.
